LOFT CONVERSION, WANTAGE
Location: Wantage, Oxfordshire
Sector: Residential Loft Conversion / Internal Fit Out
Timeline: Summer–Autumn 2024
Project Overview
BPJ Construction was engaged to transform an empty loft space at Whitehouse Farm into a fully self-contained residential annex. The client required a complete fit out to create a functional living space with a kitchen, sleeping area, and shower/WC facilities, turning the unused upper floor into a practical, comfortable home extension.
Scope of Work
This turnkey project included full internal works, carried out by our in-house team of skilled tradesmen. Services delivered:
-
Complete interior fit out
-
Full mechanical and electrical installations
-
Design and installation of a custom pressurised water and heating system
-
Bespoke joinery, hand-crafted on site to match the property's character
-
Installation of fire-safe partitions and escape routes, fully signed off by Building Control
Challenges & Solutions
The client had long-standing issues with extremely low water pressure, due to rural supply limitations. As part of our design and build contract, BPJ developed and installed a bespoke pumped tank system, discreetly located in the garage beneath the annex due to eaves height restrictions. This provided a reliable pressurised supply throughout the new space.
Outcome
The project was completed within the client’s timeline and delivered to an exceptionally high standard. All works were signed off to meet modern building control regulations, with a strong focus on fire resistance and safe egress. The client now enjoys a beautifully crafted, fully functional annex space built for long-term comfort and usability.
